When Lifescape Elder Care Law & Estate Planning signed up to be a local sponsor of the 2025 Alzheimer’s Walk in the Northland, the team had established an ambitious goal: raise $58,000 to help fight Alzheimer’s disease and support families affected by this devastating condition.
At Lifescape, we understand the importance of not just meeting, but exceeding expectations in the fight against Alzheimer’s. We considered it a privilege to help organize the team for the Northland Alzheimer’s Walk in 2025. In addition to Lifescape, the organizing committee included 16 other senior services-focused businesses in the Northland.
By mid-November, the results were in—and they were extraordinary. Thanks to the effort of sponsors, team members, and individuals, families, and supporters from afar, the Northland team raised an incredible $111,000, nearly double the original goal. This is an impressive feat, given that the first Alzheimer’s Walk in the Northland happened just six years ago.
Why the Alzheimer’s Walk Matters
The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research. Held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, the Walk brings together people of all ages to honor those affected by Alzheimer’s and other dementias while raising critical funds to advance research toward the first survivor of Alzheimer’s.
Throughout the nation, the Walk serves as a powerful reminder that no one faces Alzheimer’s alone. Participants walk together to show support for the millions of Americans living with the disease and their caregivers. The funds raised through the Walk enable the Alzheimer’s Association to provide free care and support services, invest in cutting-edge research, and advocate for policies that benefit those affected by dementia.
Every dollar raised helps fund 24/7 helpline support, educational programs, support groups, and safety services for families navigating the challenges of Alzheimer’s care. Additionally, the Walk funds vital research efforts aimed at finding better treatments and, ultimately, a cure.

Lifescape’s Commitment to the Cause
For Lifescape, sponsoring the Alzheimer’s Walk isn’t just about writing a check—it’s about making a meaningful difference in the lives of clients and families they serve every day. The attorneys and staff at Lifescape work closely with individuals and families facing the complex legal and financial challenges that come with an Alzheimer’s or dementia diagnosis.
From establishing powers of attorney and healthcare directives to navigating Medicaid planning and guardianship issues, Lifescape understands firsthand the emotional and practical toll that Alzheimer’s takes on families. This deep, personal connection to the cause made the firm’s sponsorship role especially significant.
“We see the impact of Alzheimer’s disease on families every single day in our practice,” said Katie Riordan, Director of Operations at Lifescape and chair of the Northland Walk’s organizing committee. “Supporting the Walk and exceeding our fundraising goal is one way we can give back and contribute to finding solutions for the future.”
A Community Coming Together
The remarkable achievement of raising $111,000 wouldn’t have been possible without the generosity of clients, colleagues, friends, and community members who rallied behind national sponsor Edward Jones, top local sponsor Lifescape, and the sixteen other organizations that formed the Northland team. The outpouring of support demonstrates what can happen when a community comes together for a common cause.
The funds raised by Walk participants will directly impact local families while also contributing to national research initiatives. More than 6 million Americans are currently living with Alzheimer’s disease, and that number is projected to grow significantly in the coming decades. Every contribution brings us one step closer to a world without Alzheimer’s.
